I wonder how many people on this forum are familiar with the music of the Mountain Goats. John Darnielle, singer/songwriter is the primary member of the band. I use the term band very loosely as up until recently the "band" was just John with a guitar, then it turned to John and a bass...
Waits is one of my favorite musicians, he also is in the Bukowski: Born into This documentry. My favorite album is Hartattack & Vine with many close seconds.
That's from the song "Fire it Up"
james - you could be right but he dosen't know the first think about Buk which made me curious as to where he would have heard it from.
ok so obviously the band has a song titled Bukowski but as I was talking to my supervisor the other day he mentioned that he heard "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank" was named after "something by that guy too"
Any truth to that? I've been surfing for about an hour now and can't seem to...
I'm Bill, 25 years old from New Jersey.
I've only begun to get into Bukowski but as soon as I started reading I was hooked. I've read Pulp and Factotum and am just starting up Ham on Rye.
