After spending my childhood reading books that I received for birthdays and holidays like, dare I say it, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, I finally came across my first Bukowski book. It was a beautiful book of poems that came in to my life during my first year in high school. Slouching Toward Nirvana...I remember how marvelous the feeling of reading Bukowski's work was. It was the most refreshing breath of air! Shit, I thought, he gets it. I'm not alone in this...
