first bukowski I was about 18 in 1982 and was into the L.A. band X. They were being interviewed on tv and mentioned that Charles Bukowski was one of their influences. I went to the library and they had Erections.....I checked it out (and still have it, actually) and then starting buying...

I want to read a passage or poem of Bukowski's at my father's funeral service. Can anyone suggest something about death or life lived? I know that most of his writing is all about life lived and death pretty much, but I'm looking for something more specific....I can't really think of any right...

This is true...there is something kind of fake about S.P. isn't there. It's almost like he's hyper self-conscious of himself. Which is probably why he can act...that hyper sensitivity that makes him good as an actor carries over to himself. Maybe that's what his affinity with Bukowski was...he...
