Yes Chronic that is the film I'm referring to, I had no real idea what it was about when I sat down to watch it and was very surprised as you say it's nothing like the title! Excellent movie!

Seen any good movies lately? - Films you MUST see

This may have already been said so apologies, the thread is very long but I have seen a couple of good movies lately that I would recommend, one is 'Happiness' a rather dark comedy not for the easily offended and the other was 'Little Miss Sunshine', the ending is great!!

    What are you drinking?

Last week I went out with work friends, we were all very stressed, we drank cocktails, lots of Sambuca shots, double vodkas at which point my memory fails me. The next morning I woke up looked in the mirror and had a chipped tooth and a face full of blood. Apparently I had been leaving the...

Seen any good movies lately? - Films you MUST see

Sorry my mistake it is the 'Station Agent'! For those of you in the UK I've been recommended a film that is on Saturday night, called 'psychomania' (hopefully this time I've got the correct title). It does look quite mad!

Seen any good movies lately? - Films you MUST see

The other night I watched a really really good movie that I would totally recommend to anyone. It's called 'The Station Master', have a look on IMDB. Well worth a watch, it's independant and very well acted.

    Euro 2008

4 - 1 to Spain, GO SPAIN I picked them out in the sweepstake at work! Can anyone believe that they are allowing McClaren to comment on the football, he's an idiot!

    How often do you drink?

This is a very interesting thread as i have recently stopped drinking after years of drinking pretty much everyday, to the point where going to the pub I could never get pissed, I'd have to hide a hip flask. I would sometimes come into work the next day still pissed from the night before, most...

    Needing to Express

Thanks for all the replies, I will definitely have a look at the literature mentioned. I do think the older I get the more of a grumpy cow I become and the more intolerant I am to those around me. God knows what I'll be like when I'm 60 :D

Thanks Roni I have read quite a bit of Nietzche, I do like his writings. I'll give Schopenhauer a try, I do like to walk but it seems to make me think more! rjwink666.....erm....how did you guess, it was cheap, I am skint! That may have been the mistake!

    Needing to Express

Well here I am in the sober light of day and it's an interesting read and I thank you all for your comments whether they are positive or negative. Jordon you ask 'what is it, exactly, that you bring to the table? besides a prejudice against pretty much everyone?'. I make no excuses for my...

    Needing to Express

Gerard, I wish I could agree that this was a defense mechanism but I have met a lot of people in my life and have found most to be tawdry and vacuous. I'm not saying people should put their heart on their sleeve I just wish when I talk to people I didn't find them so boring, their range of...

    Needing to Express

Hi All, If there's anyone who may understand what I need to say then it must be you guys. I've been out most of the day in the pub, drinking, and I'm angry. I stupidly went to a pub where the drinks are cheap, rather than a local, nice, friendly pub and I feel the need to express things...

    Long Beach University newspaper article

'And while I was impressed with the tour leaders' clear enthusiasm over the tour subject, I was mesmerized by the diversity of the group, and its reek of beer by the third stop.' That line is brilliant!

    Thank God for Bukowski...

'Taming of the Screwed', I like that I'll try that one next time. I have also tried 'A midsummer nights murders' and 'A Comedy of Terrors'.

    Thank God for Bukowski...

Silkpig - When I was a kid my mum used to call me 'Sulkpotbennagnag' if I was sulking after we went to see Aladin one time and there was a similar named character. Over the years of being on the internet it's difficult to find a name that you can use my real name is Angela, so I just use Sulkpot...

TheSilkPig, I now live in Stratford Upon Avon, it's a lovely little place where peacocks, fights and awful loud music just don't exist. I love it here.

    Thank God for Bukowski...

It is a small world! I haven't lived there for quite a while, my family are all there and some of my friends, I grew up there. The thing I like about Preston is the wall to wall pubs. A couple of facts you may not know about Preston: 1. First KFC in the country 2. Largest bus...

    Lively discussion

I considered sending that quote out to my office, but then I realised I do need a job, so I just sent it to a few people, the ones that can't fire me. Nice one Father Luke.

    Thank God for Bukowski...

Can you really have a Bukowski forum where you can't swear in case someone is offended, I mean if you are easily offended then you really shouldn't bother with Buk.

    Thank God for Bukowski...

I must admit I find there is nothing better than listening to Bukowski recite his own poetry. You should check out some of the audo stuff.
