haha. Half the time people don't even get that it's a garter--they think its some sort of ballet imagery, a guitar or some phallus (my personal favorite... though I have a tendency to see vaginal imagery in everything)

As the definition of "bisexuality" is hardly universal and there is very little evidence to suggest that he is or isn't (and I mean beyond the writing that would rub up against the topic), I would say it's near impossible to guess. I would wonder how this would change the reading of his work...

I am a writer but have always aspired towards scholarly academic articles. As I write really bad fiction and my poetry is just plain awful, I would hardly cite Buk as a direct influence, in that respect at least. His writing more often than not became a sort of escape for me and a grounding...

Well, unfortunately I have only read Post Office and The Capt. is out... as far as his non-poetry collections go but I have read many of his books of poetry (over and over again) thanks to my college having an incredible selection of his works and me devouring them every moment I could steal...
