A question about Bukowski

What his writing style? I recently started reading his poems and I couldn't quite put my thumb on it. Any help would be appreciated.

Come on Bill, it's a serious question!

downmaster, Bukowski's writing style is a cross between "left-behind" rapture scriptures and the captions under the polaroids on an old Hustler magazine Beaver Hunt page.

Put your thumb on that.

Glad to be of service.

What I understand he based his early work on readeroriented semiotics with just a hint of russian formalism while his later books (Hot Water Music and forward) are clearly influenced by ezras new criticism and the emerging ecocriticism.

downmaster, if I were you, I wouldn't touch a Hustler magazine in any way whatsoever. Not without gloves and a dustmask.
