I'm not sure how I stumbled upon Bukowski but I have six or seven books under my belt now (that explains the bulge there). Yesterday my wife gave me 'The Flash Of Lightning Behind The Mountain' as a present. I don't want to read the books too quickly because then there will be no more books to read.
If I think about it I got to Bukowski this way : Bobby Brewster; violin; John Gibson; skipping school; Embassy cigarettes; Hemingway; spirits; Dostoyevski; Bill Brandt; Bob Dylan; Henry Miller; John Prine; HST.
My wife is not a big fan of Bukowski - though thinks even less of Miller. I guess men have Miller and Bukowski where women have Woolf and Plath. Both have Nick Cave.
