One of my favorite quotes that I still laugh at is

" One day it rained so hard the LA river got excited and thought it was one"

I think it might be from Hollywood but I can't remember? I guess you would have to live here to understand it but it is genius...anyway..any idea?

That's from the short story "Christ on Roller Skates" in South of No North.

It was still raining. It would rain for almost two days and three nights. The Los Angeles River would get excited and pretend to be a river.
