Does anyone know what letter the line "stop insisting on clearing your head, clear your fucking heart instead" is from?

I don't find that line in any book. Maybe in a letter in the manuscript section?

Maybe I'm mistaken, I was looking for the same reference and that was what I've found. I'm new reading Bukowski, just started by his letters and still volume one.
I should take the time to go through all the material you have in this forum, it seems a nice compilation.

btw, in cases like these it always will be welcomed, if you add the date of the letter and the recipient. just for the reference, you know.

sometimes it may also be useful to add information on the edition used. For example, I guess there may be some US-readers, who aren't aware that the 3-volume Black Sparrow Press edition was published in the UK in a 4-volume edition, so some might get confused.
