Forum fauna: The Rebel

The Rebel will trot out the exciting and insightful accusations of conformist, sheep, follower, etc. whenever faced with more than one person who disagrees with them on the same subject. These disagreements do not have to be over important issues.

The Rebel was typically coddled and overly praised as a child ("Look at that adorable, perfect poopie!"), and as a result is tremendously confused by opposition. If confronted with several instances of such opposition, they will eventually lose their mind completely.

The Rebel is an outcast in their real-world "meat life," and often believe they have finally found a home in a given forum. A gathering of like-minded souls. Their early appearances are often rocky, inadvertently insulting and stepping on toes. But then they will calm down for a period, and seemingly go with the normal flow.

Calm is an unnatural state for The Rebel however, so eventually they do a slow motion flame out, erupting in a few threads, then sulking off.

An example of The Rebel in its native setting:

The Rebel: Ice cream is better than JESUS.
Member 1: Ice cream has nothing to do with JESUS.
Member 2: Yeah, nothing to do with it.
Member 3: Dude - ice cream? JESUS?
The Rebel: Whatever. Fuck you!!! Whatever Member 1 says, you follow like sheep! Conformists! I am the only free thinker here! All of you cannot possibly disagree with me. Ass kissers! Parrots!
Member 4: Mmmm...ice cream!

As you peruse the forums here you will come across many examples of The Rebel. They are one of the more common forum species.

you said you weren't going to talk about me in public!

Appreciate your friends
The Rebel seems like such a nice name for a spoiled brat who can't get along with normal and reasonable groups. Fucking ice cream is fattening.

I guess he's partly alluding to me though I never was a coddled child and am not an outcast. Well, not yet. :p

Midwest is boiling too. We hit 105 on the heat index yesterday. The folks at Lollapalooza must have appreciated that.

Fail! You flatter yourself.
Fail ! What you've written is a caricature of the rebel species, not an apology ; so I can't be accused of self-flattery by recognizing myself in such a mocking portray.
I believed you were ridiculing those who come here to post Youtube vids with Hank's voice and those who have no objection against that form of expression. Had it been a glorifying depiction of the rebel species, I wouldn't have felt concerned.

Muse is better than ice-cream.

... and my daddy can beat up your daddy....

That's not fair! Ambreen has two mommies.

One of them is a wrestling world champion. She's in the ring now, ready for butchery. Wait, one man alone has no chance, the fight will be lopsided. That's not fair ! So, I suggest that mjp calls his three daddies and five boyfriends to the rescue of Bill's father.

My daddy is small, but scrappy and he fights dirty. He is 5' 5" and at 74 years I still would not mess with him.

I just wanted to post this for anyone who might happen by in the next hour or so, and who also might have read F. Luke's blog about me, which was full of lies.

Well Mather got the axe with 3 posts, but I see hollow got it at 2 posts.... And it seems some members like lyagushkka got the axe at 0 posts. I recently asked the question, "is 6 posts the shortest ever before getting banned." I now see 0 posts is a possibility. I would imagine these are members who were banned, then tried to sign up under different member names?
