Not to answer for Mr. Short Bus, but Claypool is a monster. Not everyone's cup of cheese, however.

"Primus Sucks" used to be their own slogan. I found Claypool very interesting for about 30 minutes, but your head can only take so much monster base. And I was 25 back then. Lou Reed did that to me a couple of years later when he seemed to be in a foul mood.
