In the attached excerpt, Frances mentions a couple of stories -Bukowski wrote them after his trip to New Orleans- which kind of triggered their break-up. The first story appeared in Open City -and maybe in other places I can't recall now- but the second one doesn't ring a bell at all. Harelip? Urinating together in the bathtub?
