One detail I found interesting when I was reading that:

I don't know if we ever discussed that...the fact that the Webbs didn't bind Crucifix. I think the common assumption is that they did everything.

Yest, that's the common assumption, but I think he discusses in the (unpublished?) correspondence who did bind Crucifix.

Probably the difference between 777 and 3100 copies...four times more books - that's a lot more work.
