Jean Genet

Has anyone read the Thief's Journel? I read Our Lady.. and that just tore my head. I don't know whether or not Buk really dug him but i think he's a great writer.

"The law is wrong; I am right"
I've got a copy of The Thief's Journal. I found it quite good. Genet describes various incidents, people etc. in great detail. That's part of his style. He said he was influenced by Proust in that regard.
The Miracle Of The Rose, is also a great book of his. It deals with his stay in the Mettray penal colony in his youth. I've got the book but I never finished it.

I found a connection between Bukowski and Genet in some old german story introductions from his translater Carl Weissner where he mentioned:
"... Bukowski was celebrated as the new american "poéte maudit" from Genet, Henry Miller and Satre..."
Seems to be another promotion fake from Weissner ?
