I saw The Fall in 1999 in London. Mark E Smith was late. When he arrived he baited the audience. He antagonised his band mates. He refused to play his best known songs. It was great. :(

Man, only 60 years old... Punk may not be completely dead (given that there are obviously still punk bands releasing albums), but I hate to see so many of the original punks going. I still mourn Joe Strummer's too-young death all these years later.

There's a German band, "Tocotronic", that was cool in the mid-90s and back then (1996?) they made a song named:
"Ich hab geträumt ich wäre Pizza essen mit Mark E. Smith" = "I have dreamt, I've been eating pizza with Mark E. Smith"
