Jesus, what has J.M. done to Six Chink Fishermen (in Mockingbird...): He eliminated the wonderful and strong word "piss" (line 25) and replaced it by "soil". What nonsense.

According to David Calonne, between 1967 and 1969 Open City came out 93 times, and Bukowski's column Notes of a Dirty Old Man appeared in 89 of those issues. I wonder how often it happened that the column was called Notes of a Dirty Old Poet, or if this was the only occasion.
