I wonder what Bukowski had to say about the poetry of the others presented in the film. Does anyone here know what he thought about, for example, Allen Ginsberg?

As I recall, he didn't have any nice things to say about Ginsberg, although I only recall a couple of mentions scattered in places I can't remember.

I don't know, but here's what D.S. Calonne wrote about it.
He also posted an account of a Bukowski-Ginsberg meeting.

Bukowski insulted Ginsberg at a party after a reading in San Francisco, if I'm remembering correctly. Ridiculed him as having written only one great poem, "Howl," and nothing else of value after that. I suspect he was jealous of Ginsberg's fame.

(As always, it's early in the morning, memory sucks, and I could have garbled the story...)

Don't be too desperate. It's a grainy, short reading in a window the size of a postage stamp.

Here's two full readings with extras. Buy that and watch it on your couch with your feet up on the dog, desperation-free.
