What was Bukowski favorite track?

I could swear it was Santa Anita? Or Hollywood? probably when he got better off, it was Anita, some say the prettiest track in the entire U.S.

Good question. I always assumed those were the two he went to most often. He also mentioned a backwater track in a poem once. I think it was in New Mexico.

i know he mentions caliente racetrack in tijuana, mexico a few times. i don't recall one in new mexico though...

in the story "my friend the gambler" he says that he loves santa anita, hollywood park and los alamitos, and didn't care for del mar and pomona...

I guess that settles the question. Good work, James...

Note that these tracks have different "seasons," so the horses aren't always running at the same time at the same tracks. I imagine that a real horseplayer would have to go to all of them at some point during the year.

yep! definitely!

(and you can tell from some of his writing, where he states exactly this.)
