9 in Nine - A 9 Day Printing & Bookbinding Odyssey from Bottle of Smoke Press

very cool!
Of these three, I like the Denander-cover the most. His drawing is amazing and your typesetting perfect.

I like the Scott Wannberg cover. Is that a woodcut? A lino block print?

Well, I like all three actually.

Scotts is printed from a photo polymer plate. The plate was converted to black from a photo of Scott. Behind Scott is airbrush painted so that all covers are slightly. It is pretty tough to see on that photo, but they pop in person.

It is the first time that I have done a cover exactly like this. I sprayed a cover using stencils and objects for a book by Jack Hirchman that was published by Sore Dove.

It sounds cool. I want to see that in person. I only contributed enough to get one book, but I can see I'll need to order some of the others later.

Here are 8 of the nine. There is actually a 10th book, but it is outside of the set. That book is Damian Michaels' The Odd Man Out. We just have to print the book by Hirschman and then all the printing is done. I have done a lot of folding, collating, sewing, but there is still much to do... Here are the paperbacks...

Here are all 10 books, you'll notice that the one that is all red has not been printed yet.

A 10th book ?!?!?!?!? You truly are insane, Bill. I'm going to have to order that Marvin Malone paperback after the fact, maybe a couple others. Is that Chewy in the lower right corner, or do I just have Star Wars on the brain?

Okay, it's Chewbacca's shrunken head.

You do amazing work, Bill, and your industriousness puts everyone else to shame.

Before you throw too much praise my way, it looks like I will not complete all editions of all 9 books by the deadline tomorrow night. I'll have all paperbacks done and ready to go, but the hardcovers and clamshell edition will be a bit delayed. I am still waiting on signature sheets from three authors, so I cannot bind their books until they are received.

They do look pretty cool as a set and as stand alone books. I'l post pictures of the Hirschman book tonight.

Bill -- that's still 9 books in nine days, paperbacks -- an incredible feat. Guinness Book of World Records?

Wow, I'm completely speechless... All the covers in your photo and the clamshell to house them all in are really amazing to see - simply awe inspiring. This has to be one of the most ambitious BosPress projects to date. You've certainly outdone yourself this time Bill. Cannot wait to see my clamshell edition in person... I'm certain it will be well worth the $$$ spent.

That's just plain BEAUTIFUL!

Maybe the clamshell to end all clamshells.

Not sure if it's worth a heartattack, but it sure kicks ass big time!

Got my books today. I really can't begin to say how beautiful this set is. Sell your wife, sell your kids, sell drugs, but whatever you do, buy these books. Thanks Bill.

Thanks! Most books have gone out. There are still a few hardcovers to mail. Those will go out on Monday. I mailed more today, but still have more to send...

Three of the titles are now sold out in hardcover (Thurston Moore, Marvin Malone, Henry Denander) and one is sold out in paperback (Thurston Moore). I did pull 5 of each edition for full sets, so I still have a couple hardcover sets and a couple paperback sets as well as most titles in both formats...

Continuously outdoing yrself. Pushing yr craft. Each book unique, yet a piece of the whole. By the way, the books came in the mail today. Thanks, Bill.
