I will look for the short story - pi presume it's really good.
But the film had some flows. and the director acted pretty bad,
and the girl didn't act at all.

I didn't find the acting bad at all.
The story is in the posthumous book 'Betting on the Muse'.

That story alone made Betting On The Muse worth purchasing.
