Thanks a lot, Hosh! Better late than never...:)

And thanks a lot, to you too, Digney! I know what you mean when it comes to backs. I've been in that 'club' since my late twenties...

Healing Back Pain promises permanent elimination of back pain without drugs, surgery, or exercise.

"Without exercise". That's good.

Nice mugshot.

Thanks, mjp! That book might be worth reading. It's no fun lying on your back for a week or two waiting for the pain to go away, or stumble about with sciatica, although I'm fine most of the time. I don't know if my pains has got anything to do with the mind, but it's certainly worth looking into. I see John Sarno has written other books too on pain and the mind-body connection. Hopefully, he's on to something.

That's his whole point - that almost all back pain has to do with the mind, because physical back "injuries" are really very rare. You have to buy into it, I suppose, and I know it sounds like hippie voodoo shit, but that book changed my life about 15 years ago.

He has, but you should get the one I linked to. It's the best one, and it should be the only one you need.

I would only point out that Mr. Phillips should make it clear that he does not endorse any physical or mental health regimen, and that each individual should consult with their primary care physician before attempting to "heal" themselves through the use of a book.

Looks like this is the book here. Has all the caveats. These days my back bothers me most when I'm at the computer screen so reading for my health (and sex life) is over for the moment. And if my back pain all has to do with my mind then I am well and truly fucked.

We should start a separate thread on this: "Bukfan's back", or something.

I was a hippie back in the day, so hippie voodoo shit might be right up my alley, and if it helped you, it might help me too.

Looks like this is the book here.

Fantastic! What a stroke of good luck you happened to have the book as a PDF file. Thanks a lot, Digney!

Thanks a lot, Black Swan and Hooch!
- Yes, I celebrated it in style! As it happens, I'm a hard core Canned Heat fan and by some strange coincidence they were playing at a blues festival here on my birthday. I know their webmaster and he got me on their guest list ($65 saved) and they invited me backstage for a chat after the concert. We chatted for 15-20 min. so that was pretty cool. :)

Thanks, Bruno! Unfortunately, that joke was made two years ago. Now, 62 is the new 52! :p
My body may be 62, but I'm 32, and if I had'nt been reading Bukowski I would've been 22! :hmh:

I should have noticed that. I was slightly hungover this morning. At least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

1.
Idag er det (Persons) fødselsdag,
hurra hurra hurra
4.
Til slut vi råber højt i kor,
hurra hurra hurra
Gid (Person) længe leve må
og sine ønsker opfyldt få
og dejlig chokolade med kager til.

To celebrate your birth I have had fluid drained off my knee...that's how much your birthday means to me! You're welcome...

But seriously, another fine year...hard to begin a new birth year better than you have! Congrats.

Indeed, Hosh! It's not every day you get a chance to chat with your favorite band and on your birthday at that.
I hope your knee is back to normal. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Ah, the traditional Danish Happy Birthday song! Very nice. Thanks, Ponder!

so, they didn't tell you, it was me who booked them and send them over to you? Anyway, I'm glad you liked my little birthday present.

Thanks a lot, Roni! I should've guessed you were behind it all. How very considerate of you. :hmh:

Larry Taylor is fucking ageless. I've seen him play with Waits a couple of times. Great pic!

Oh yes! They say he's the greatest blues bass player on upright bass. I've only heard him play upright bass on one of the Canned Heat albums though. I guess it's too much trouble dragging an upright bass around the world - lol.
I know he started playing in Jerry Lee Lewis band as a teen and that his brother is a drummer. Larry's also played with The Monkees. He's a really nice person to chat with, but they all were very nice people and very laid back too.
