11,000. I screwed up on one and realized it just after I uploaded the file. There is no way to stop it, as it is done once the file is uploaded, so I'll have an extra 1000 postcards that are low resolution and have to be trashed.

Oh well...

Bill

p.s. The printer is on Bandini Blvd. Kinda strange, eh?

How low is the resolution? Are they terrible, or just slightly fuzzy? Maybe they can be put to some use. Maybe print an add on them saying "If you were buying this card instead of finding it free, it would be in focus" and scatter them in malls and parks. Or am I nuts?

The correct file is 2M. The wrong one is 36Kb.

The resoultion was very pixelated. I noticed it right away as it took a half a second to upload it....

If they are not so bad, I'll find a way to give them away. Otherwise I'll send them all to David and maybe he can make a paper mache castle out of them...

If I get my hands on them, I'll print a one or two line poem on them using my toy rubber type press. Why waste 1,000 cards with a heavily pixilated image of Bukowski on them? That's an opportunity that won't come again.

They are saying that I should have them all here on 9/17, so I'll collate enough of them to get you guys your sets and send them out first. Then I'll collate more sets and announce it to the public.

Best,
Bill

This is exciting. I'm about to make postcard footnote history. Those guys who sell postcards on eBay are going to know my name! Assuming some of the sets get broken up and scattered to the non-Bukowski obsessed larger public. Remember, you can stick a stamp on one and send it to you aunt Tilda.

damn, just heard about this collection.
i suppose some good things DO come out of forums. oh well.
i know the big limited edition ones are all gone, but any copies left of the regular, not-so-cool edition? :)

Hey now, anais -- they are all cool, regular or deluxe. But then I'm not exactly impartial.

Yeah Bottle of Smoke will some day have all my money... Just ordered one of these and one each of Hitched and Poem For A Festival...

Maybe next week I'll REALLY go for broke and order some of those Bottle sets... Thanks Bill... David...

I figured it out and Bill does not sleep. When he's not at his job or being a good dad and husband, he's printing and binding books. He may not eat, either. I don't think there's time for that. That's the only way he could make all this stuff happen. There are only so many hours in a day.

I am currently interviewing people to sleep for me. That will free up the other 5 or 6 hours a night.

Interested parties can apply via e-mail.

I already turned it over the the Delaware vice squad. People have been gunning for you for years, pardner. I like you, of course, but Drowningboy offered me too much money to press ahead. In the end, I may be the WHORE, but what the hell? Of course, this only means that you cannot set foot in Delaware as the prostitution warrant will be valid, but we are a blip on the map anyway!

ha!

So, how did the postcards turn out? I know the clamshells will be beautiful. I imagine my copies will be arriving soon, right, Bill? I do get copies, don't I? Or are you going to keep me chained to this desk forever, endlessly cranking out portraits of Bukowski, never seeing the fruits of my labors?

Just kidding. I know you'll send me a bunch of postcards.

Right and tight is something we used to say in the reggae band when everything was going well and the music was flowing like the old pre-Army Corp of Engineers Mississippi river! It means: very good.

Ah, now I get it. "Right and tight little set, men" as opposed to "Right, and tight little set, men"
