This may not mean much to a lot of folks, but I'm a huge fan of his. Really unique talent,
seemed to be a pretty good human being also.

I think this is a really good study in writing in the First Person. He manages to incorporate 2 first persons seamlessly -- one who is the kid and the one telling the tale many years later. You don't have to like this kind of music, but if you don't appreciate this writing feat, you'll likely never be a goid writer.
