Reading a Hemingway biography by one Jeffrey Meyers and just found the following paragraph, which really made my day

"The puritanical Perkins found it difficult to mention the obscenities he had to urge Hemingway to omit. He once noted `shit piss fuck bitch`on his things-to-do calendar to remind him to discuss these words with Hemingway during lunch. After Perkins left, Charles Scribner came into his office and was surprised to see these emphatic reminders. When Perkins returned, Scribner said, "You must be exhausted," and urged him to take the rest of the day off."
