When I first saw the description of that v1 set a couple years ago I thought it was a joke. "180g vinyl LPs pressed on burled chestnut colored vinyl w/ hand-engraved, blind-embossed gold-leaf labels, housed in a laser-etched white birch LP folio," and "Handcrafted quarter-sawn oak cabinet with lush sage velvet upholstery and custom-forged metal hardware."
It's too bad, that set would be great to hear. You know, on a few CDs for $40 or $50. Without the $350 worth of hipster bullshit.
I kinda like the hipster bullshit. Seems like they put a lot of effort into presentation. But yeah... it would be nice just to be able to buy the music without all of the extraneous stuff.
You can bundle Vol. I and II for only $650. An $800 value for nearly 20% off. So they claim (disclaimer: it is nearly 20%, I might argue the $800 value.)
