I'm new... What's this line from?

Hi,
I'm new on this board and recently started reading Buk. Was just wondering... I've seen the line "these words I write keep me from total madness" around a bit. I've also seen this drawing (http://www.levee67.com/bukowski/) a few places. What's the deal? Is this a line from one of Buk's books or just a little work of art? Thanks!

he said that in many interviews and poems, although sometimes the phrasing could be slightly different.
