hhhmm, English subtitles?

Taken from a forum: This film is fairly new and the answer is no, at this present time. But be sure there will be an american transation in the near future.

Yes, I'm sure there will be because there's already a version with Scandinavian subtitles.
I've ordered it and I'm loking forward to watching it. The whole 10 hour series are on Youtube but without subtitles. I saw some clips and it looks like a good series.
Toto Riina was the guy who declared war on the Italian establishment and ordered the killings of the judges, Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsalino and many more high ranking officials. He's now in prison for life after having escaped the police for 30 years...

Stumbled across this thread when I was searching for comments about 'The Wire'. Anyway, I'd recommend the film Gomorra to anyone with an interest in Mafia-type stuff. Just don't watch it if you're planning on going to Naples any time soon.

Thanks, Bruno. I just ordered the movie Gomorra for 6 bucks all in.

Compelling interview with Roberto Saviano, who infiltrated Naples' organised crime gang, the Camorra, and revealed the worldwide grip the gang has in business and commerce. His book, Gomorrah, has become a global best seller and has been made into a highly acclaimed film.

He now lives under constant armed guard, moving from one secret location to another.
Italian with English subtitles.

Here he is interviewed by Lawrence Pollard for BBC2's The Culture Show.

I would like to watch it. It sounds interesting.

I've watched all 10 hours of "Il Capo Dei Capi" (it's called "Corleone" here), and it's a great series. If you're into watching gangster movies, you'll like it!
I'm sure it'll soon be released with English subtitles...

Hope you like it Ponder. It's very gritty to say the least. The are several stories taking place which don't really overlap beyond the involvement of the Camorra. Which is a tad unconventional in a cinematic sense but perhaps all the more realistic for that.

Watched goodfellas and casino the other day.
Didn't like the first one and liked the second.

Absolutely.

Never seen both movies before.
Of course I heard tons of positive sounds about goodfellas
but sorry, not my piece of cake.

I liked both, each in its own way. Both were made over real life events. I think Goodfellas really showed us how organized crime works through violence and murders, or the threat of it. It was more exciting to watch than Casino, although casino was very exciting too.

Btw, the protagonist in Goodfellas, Henry Hill, is now selling his "primitive" paintings and drawings on ebay. They're very cheap, so I gather they're not too popular. It is of course just Hill trying to make an easy buck from his name's notoriety.

Didn't he do a cookbook too? Called The Wiseguy's Cookbook or something. Quite surprised he hasn't received a pair of concrete waders to be honest.

Yes he did a cookbook.

Documentary on Hill, a good one:

Absolutely! They look like they were done by a small child.

Btw, his children (now middle aged) wrote a book about what an awful dad he was. even after he and his family came into the witness protection program. I saw his son talk about it on "60 min.". He was wearing a disguise, so nobody afterward would recognize him as the son of Henry Hill. The TV crew asked Hill about the son's accusations in his home (the son did'nt want to be interviewed together with him, since he and his sister long ago had severed all connection to Hill), and all he could say was the usual babble about all families having trouble from time to time.
Having seen various video clips with Henry Hill on Youtube, including the very good documentary Ponder links to, I must say he appears to be very immature for an adult. Apparently, the many years of "high life" with lots of money, nightclubs and girls has affected his personality.

He's missed a trick with the price of the paitings though. By making it fairly cheap to buy them he's more or less admitting he knows they're shit too :D

Good point! - Maybe he tried high prices at first and had to keep lowering them. :D

Henry Hill has provided some of the greatest Howard Stern moments in the last 25 years. And I thought Goodfellas was just amazing! But his paintings? Yeah not so good, here's one on eBay right now of Stern...It does make me laugh though...

Nervas, I don't know if that's a joke or not, but regardless it's pretty goddamn funny. I used to be a member of goodfellahenry.com (yeah, everybody in the witness protection program has their own site nowadays) and maybe I was too young to realize or work the computer that well, but I don't remember an art section on there haha.

No joke, here's the link and get it while you can it's discounted 5% from $49.95 to $47.45 right now! HA.

And OH MY, he now has one of Artie Lange on there, check this out...The funniest thing is it looks nothing like Artie, but somehow that makes it even funnier! And I love how he put Artie in a blue shirt, just like he did Howard. I had to discontinue Sirius a few months ago to try and save money, but I wonder if Stern has commented on these, I'm sure he has.

nervas, thanks for that ebay link. i'm seriously considering buying one of his paintings.
i bought a painting at angola prison (by a prisoner of course, at their annual rodeo) and henry's paintings will compliment it nicely...you know, in a museum of bad art kinda way...
