I've seen the doc they're showing (Patti Smith: Dream of Life), but it's well worth seeing again.

I heard Gerry Locklin read a poem on NPR the other day. It surprized the hell out of me...

Plus, he used the word "bitch" in his poem.

I happened across the Doc the other day. Even though it was midnight, I stayed up to watch the whole thing. I loved the way it was filmed and edited to be almost more of a biopic than a documentary. If you haven't seen it, you must.

I first saw Patti Smith in small arenas in the seventies and it was my first taste of actual music excitement at a show-this is before I got to the rock clubs and punk happening.

I reallly enjoyed the documentary just wished their was more music. the live version of Rock N Roll Nigger is great, though.

My favorite parts are with her dad and talking with Flea about pissing.
