Seen any good movies lately? - Films you MUST see

whatever kevin smith says about tim burton.. burton is an absolute genius, and kev is nothing but a chump..

You can't argue that Kevin Smith doesn't at least get at the heart of mediocrity in American culture as it relates to the generation that was raised by the TV. Unless the work of Tim Burton is gospel to you and Kevin Smith is the slandering Anti-Christ.

I want to see Stranger Than Fiction. It looks funny in a "why are we here?" kind of way.

I caught the flu so took my mini DVD player to bed with me and watched 'Love and Death' and 'Sleeper' last night.
Fell asleep happy.

i just did a three night (re)viewing

i nominate this work
as some of the greatest in film EVER

I saw a hysterical animated spoof of Lord of the Rings. At the end of the movie, Sam and Frodo are trapped on a precipice and at the last moment, whisked off to safety in the claws of an eagle. In the spoof, the movie opens with Sam and Frodo being carried in the eagle's claws. They fly over Mt. Doom (or whatever the fuck it's called) and Frodo drops the ring in. Sam says, "Can you imagine how long that would have taken if we tried to walk the whole way?!" Frodo laughs hysterically. End of move. Total time: 00:03.

The English Theater in Copenhagen is currently performing a spoof of "The Lord of the Rings" called "Bored of the Rings". Bilbo is named Dildo and the evil eye of Sauron has become a vagina etc. etc. :D

I would rather jam rusty straight pins far into my soft, tender eyeballs than watch that tripe.

But that's just me.

'Bored of the rings' is by the national lampoon press, i read it to my class when i was eleven for a book reading...my teachers face was a picture!

i saw 'the weather man' last night, that was pretty good, tonight its going to be 'the devil and daniel johnson' i'm looking forward to that...i have to go to some latin bar first with my dad and his colombian wife...oh well :(

I liked it, but was then told by a good friend that it was a piece of crap. Still, In my opinion, it was a good movie. Probably had it's faults (i would have to reread the book), but the movie is still better than most of the crap posing as entertainment....

Ok - I'll have to see it sometime. I have the book but I have'nt had time to read it yet. Maybe I should see the movie first in order not to be disapointed...

saw last night that 'running with scissors' has been made into a film...oh dear :(
Anyone heard anymore about the Joy Division film? there were rumours Jude Law was going to play Ian Curtis, if he does I shall gouge my eyes out and send them to him to show how much I detest every ounce of his being

ah, Ask The Dust! - Was it any good?
It was okay, but I think Colin Farrell played Bandini with all of the meanness and none of the humor, which made it pretty flat and dreary overall. If you haven't read Ask the Dust, definitely see the movie first (if at all).

There's no way a movie could ever capture a really fine book, and if you look back through the history of movies you'll see that's pretty much always been the case. There are some really well done films based on books, but they can't compare to the books themselves.

what's the friend part got to do with it??? You don't need to impress us, we know you've got friends!!
:)

little miss sunshine, very good....
devil wears prada, good chick flick (which means I enjoyed it!)

An Inconvenient Truth, very interesting documentary, a shame Gore could have (or 'he was'...) the next president, instead 'you' wound up with that war criminal BUSH.

This movie is so what I've been looking for. The overall direction was so great I need to go see the movie again to figure out how much I liked the actual characters (I thought Clive Owen delivered a stellar performance). Go see it Go see it go see it Go SeE iT!!!
