How much are you offering to pay me if I don't? Because I don't.
The bits you can read on line are very pedestrian and dull. Though I will admit it is quite feat to write a dull poem about being in prison. Maybe that's the point. He's pomo and way over my head.
But people have a penchant for authors who have done hard time, so for some reason a lot of them are published when their notebooks should have been chucked into the prison dumpster on their release.

So is that why you are here, to shill for your husband? I don't know his work and cannot comment on it. It could be good or not so good, I have no idea. I just don't know, but it is dishonest to show up on a forum like this and pretend that you are trying to make a point that has some valid reason, when the only point is to get more google hits for your husband (or sell more books). You posted that you read both of RB's books and loved them, without mentioning that he was your husband. Are you related to the Smoky Voiced Kirsten Abjornsen? I hear that she is amazing, but have no connection to her or to her label.... Maybe if you had just come out and said that your husband writes and that you think that he is very good it would have been different. We probably would not have felt like we were being toyed with and sold....
This would explain the 5,200 google hits. I guess that going on forums and dropping a name will get you hits and wll allow you to write a Wikipedia page and not have wikipedia remove it under their "rules"...

Hmmm, gee I guess somewhere it all got lost in the translation and everyone JUMPED on the shit bandwagon... I merely stated whom else I liked... and that got turned into a shit storm...

I'm Not force feeding anyone to read his stuff , I'm merely giving My opinion of who else I like.. I like Leonard Cohen as well... I now wonder what kind shit storm that will commence HA-.... With all respect, the point is that many of us are convinced that you could care less about this forum or Bukwoski and are only using it to promote the work of your husband the same way others have some on here to try to sell Vioxx, Viagra or Rolexes. Had you said in the beginning that your husband writes and that his name is XXXX, XXX then it would not seem like you were trying to just turn us on to an author that you dig, instead of actually just trying to promote his work. It felt like a con, really.
We had another person that posted to let us know that they just heard a GREAT CD by a Swedish lady who was singing over Buk's words. It turned out that he was the promoter for this singer (which was hidden by his postings). He talked about how he just bought the CD (that was a lie, as he was the promoter for the label) and was blown away by it (That could have been a lie. Who knows, he was being PAID to promote it). Again, if he had come at us without playing us for fools it would have been different.
I have nothing against you or your husband. I just know how this will end. Once you realize that the Bukowski.net forum will not get your husband's work out there, you'll be gone and we'll look back to see that you never once posted anything that was not solely to promore his work.

When you first came here you poasted the same opinion over and over and over and over and over and over and. . .
. . . and what you didn't realize is that first poasts are moderated. So, The poast was allowed.
Seems as if you have taken rather badly to othersopinions of what you enjoy.
Tiff? Too bad! Really, we are all adults here, with the possible exception to me, i'm a thirteen year old computer genius (not really . i'm more like this many fingers, but you know what I mean) and as adults everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I started with Zen master Ikkyu, I'm a bit cautious to use that word here though but in the end it doesn't really mean anything "zen". I found that ikkyu's poetry has helped to me to find charles' poetry and I think I'll stay with that
You know my sister had been bugging me to read some Alica Walker poetry for ages, and then I found a copy of her first book of poems in a charity shop for a few pennies. I was surprised, in a good way (not like walking in on your gran tucking her breasts into her stockings). Her poetry is simple but powerful.
I may even read 'The Colour Purple' now.

RB is the husband of Tiff, who was outed a while back for posting press releases for her husband.
I suspect that Dr Diesel is someone else related to RB and someone else who thinks that we are stupid enough to buy the line of crap being fed to us.
Maybe you should block all IPs that are coming from his part of Washington, or we may start getting posts from gramma telling us about a great poet that writes just like Bukowski...

I do not know nor have I have ever had the pleasure of meeting Mr. [Tiff's husband] (he is rather a handsome fellow and I am in need of a new house boy as Hop Sing is becoming rather insolent)..... But neither here nor there, I can say I have no plans in the near future of meeting him... I stumbled across his book while in one of my favorite whack shops. One needs marital aids now and again... I got a case of the trots and had to sit out my pursuing until it was safe for all involved. Stone Hotel was on the back of the toilet... I had time to kill so I read through it and it didn't make me vomit so I stole it... I figured hey... let the next guy bring his own reading material...

My girl snapped a copy of his "Bed Bug and other poems" off of ebay 5 years or so ago for next to nothing.
