I think about Amy Winehouse quite a bit.

I loved her two proper studio albums, but she was still reacting to (against?) her influences.

Who knows what was to come, maybe a long fizzle to Vegas shows and cruise ship headlining. Whatever. We should all fail so well.

That’s weird. Just today I had the radio and they played one of her hits and I was thinking "Hey, maybe I should listen to some of her other stuff."

That seems unlikely, doesn't it.

I wasn't all that familiar with her or her music, just the scandalous stuff that was reported everywhere. But I liked the documentary I saw about her a couple months ago.

Imagine how different the music world would be without heroin and all the other drugs that killed or ruined so many musicians.
