What happened to Barbara Frye?

First post, so I'm sorry if this has been brought up before. But what exactly were the circumstances in the death of Bukowski's first wife. In one of the biographies, it said she and her daughter died mysteriously (murdered?) in India. Hmmmm. Thanks!
