I'm drinking the rest of the wine for dessert and we had to go get ink for the printer.

and I got some post deleted for blasting a slacker college kid who was trying to get you to do his homework for him so he could get a degree then a high powered job screw that up and get a multi-million dollar golden parachute and then get another high powered job all on the backs of the good scholars of Bukowski dot net.
I better go put him on my friends list.

I haven't posted for two weeks so I got the message that started this thread in the first place-tell us what you had for dinner.

It was the last day of class so it was a pot luck dinner with my classmates (everyone brings something in.)

I brought cheese and cactus quesadillas but I also had fried chicken, creme puffs, little mushrooms with great stuff on them, seven layer Mexican dip, Root Beer and other stuff I forget. Pretty great.

Tri-tip steak, spinach salad, baked potato with all the fixin's, purchased with a bad check at the supermarket. Hank Paulson told me it was alright to write the check, they would cover it.

Stew.
The poor person's buffet in one bowl ;).

Yesterday's dinner was much more interesting though. Hubby and I ordered a 12 cut and both plowed through it before 2AM.

Chicken wings. I got fancy and had some ranch dipping sauce with them. It was an odd day away from the dollar menu.

I made a pesto chicken pizza on naan bread. pan fried the mushrooms, onions and peppers first.
didn't have any sun dried tomatoes left, which pissed me off.
love me some sun dried tomatoes.
and I didn't have one ounce of booze today.

 Screw the food, hooch, you need to get something in your stomach first!

Nice use of naan. Ever try gobhi paratha with spicy onion chutney and grilled shrimp?

Wow, that sounds good! I had homemade stuffed peppers, and a nice cauliflower with cheese sauce.CRB:)

Sorry for the double post. What were the peppers stuffed with? I'm guessing the classic ground beef with rice in a green pepper. Good stuff.

For a variation, try chicken and peas with lentils or cous-cous in a red pepper.

Or, shrimp/scallops with sliced water chestnuts and Thai curry coconut milk in an orange or yellow pepper.

the thing about being broke is that it forces me to make things from scratch.

so tonight is jambalaya and corn bread.

Some sort of dish from Hungary... potato slices and chopped up sausage amongst brocolli and onions and whatnot... put on the stove for quite a while to wallow in sweet grease.

I too am broke but we have a freezer so I found some Gorton's Fish fillets

There was also some plain old pollack in the freezer so that's cooking too.
I put some Old Bay seasoning on that and some EV olive oil.

sun dried tomatoes - I FUCKING LOVE THEM TOO!

I once lectured a friend of mine for almost one drunk hour on the amazing personal qualities and properties of the tomato, in all its forms. Don't get me start on Onions. Or broccoli. Jesus.

I have no idea what I am going to have for dinner. I might have a bowl of chicken noodle soup with extra pasta in it. But, I feel, I might need something more substantial, I was quite drunk last night, and had sex for throughout most of the evening and into the wee morning hours. I need steak or something manly like that. Sadly, I can't afford such a thing today.
