If it works for you it works for you. You're right, Dmitri is a word by itself. That's what I see as the problem. ;)

His best work is all rhythm, and the later two-word-lines forsake rhythm for some kind of staccato form. I prefer the groove of the longer lines.

They don't even have to be that long. The longest line in my remix was the first; "the time they used to run me out of the West coast bars." But the one, two and three word lines - I never warmed up to that.

Imagine being a scrappy little punky band and Iggy records for the same multinational liquor conglomerate that you do, so someone in an office somewhere convinces (pays) him to sing on one of your tracks. You are overjoyed and tell all your friends, and then a couple of weeks later you get a CD with that on it.

I would be disappointed beyond words. And I swear on the baby JESUS right here and now before all of you that I would fight tooth and nail to prevent the fuckers from releasing it.

But I would probably lose, since, you know, Iggy already cashed the check.

well I absolutely worship conor oberst, so it's very hard for me to be critical of him. M. Ward I have never been a big fan of, and his voice just bores me. Jim James I'm a huge fan of, so the songs with him and Conor harmonizing or trading vocals I find very good. I've got tickets to go see them here at the Greek Theater on October 18th. Looking forward to it. Give it another spin, it may grow on you. Recommended tracks:
