That taxi scene is uncomfortable at best. It's from Eat the Document, which was D.A. Pennebaker's '66 companion piece to Don't Look Back, from the '65 UK tour. I don't believe it's ever been officially released.
I could live 1,000 more lives without U2 being part of it, but I do agree that this is an extremely well-crafted and well-performed song in every version I've heard. I may not have the pure dislike of Bono that others have, but what boils my ass is him standing up there with a guitar that's probably not in tune, is certainly not audible in the mix, and only serves to further the image that this is a multi-talented individual. He's a singer-songwriter; a decent one. Let's just leave it at that and check the wet panties at the door.I know everyone hates Bono but I just love this song.
