anyone know/like this canadian band?
That's funny. I just found one of their albums in a collection someone gave me & it's been sitting out for weeks & I still haven't listened to it. Gonna go do that now.

Shrapnel's Combat Love was one of the greatest singles of 1979.
I regret posting this, it's been earworming me ever since.

I don't know if that's due to some inherent catchiness, or just because I listened to it 500 times when I was in my 20s.

I'm probably gonna give Sandinista! a second listen (I first got around to listening to it completely like three months ago). That record left me overwhelmed from the amount of songs and the variety in styles, but something in me wants to listen to it again. However, this song stuck to me like no other from The Clash.

It's always such a beautiful mircale how Nick Cave turns every song he covers into a ballad of hurt and grief.

A Jacques Brel song
A friend of mine, Pili aka Phillipe Grassal, once acted as Jacques Brel in a sort of musical theatre play.
A (very short) glimpse into his version of "Ne me quitte pas" is in the trailer-video at 0:53.

Brel-fans will recognize other songs as well.

I can’t seem to be able to play it ?

I can’t seem to be able to play it
Strange. It's simply on youtube, set to public, no copyright-infringements known.

Do others here have the same problem?

Sorry, Roni! For some reason, now it works! Good voice. Love that song. Brel is one of my favorite with Léo Ferré. Geniuses!

I painted Madame George YEARS ago when I was in my twenties and had it in a hallway leading to my apartment in Vancouver. It stayed there for 3 years and then disappeared. Always loved Van.
